Daniel A. Hirsch, Ph.D.

I bring nearly 20 years of experience in higher education leadership, strategy, and student success. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked across Student Affairs, Human Resources and Organizational Development, Advancement and Community Engagement, and Academic Affairs at institutions including Claremont McKenna College, Pitzer College, Colby College, Grinnell College, and the University of Southern California.

​Throughout my career, I have:

  • Led strategic planning efforts to enhance the student experience and strengthen institutional priorities.

  • Designed leadership and professional development programs that help staff, faculty, and students grow their skills and impact.

  • Created inclusive practices and organizational learning processes to support equity and belonging across campus communities.

  • Developed advancement strategies that connect donors and alumni to meaningful opportunities for engagement and philanthropy.

In addition to my administrative leadership, I am a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pitzer College, teaching courses in organizational studies, leadership, and gender studies, while advising student research and publishing on leadership, organizational change, and masculinity studies.

 

I earned my Ph.D. in Education and Human Resource Studies from Colorado State University, my Master’s in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California, and my B.A. in Philosophy from Carleton College.
